Status updated by our Observatory Director on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 6:31 PM...

This event has been CANCELLED due to weather conditions.

The latest weather forecast calls for storms in Detroit to reach the observatory at star party time; as a result, the star party for this evening
is cancelled. The weather forecast for Tuesday evening calls for clear
skies, so we'll tentatively plan an impromptu star party for Tuesday.

The Jet Stream affects astronomical "seeing" (steadiness of the air)
If we're in a gray area, seeing will not be as good as in a white area.
If we're in a white area, the shorter the arrows, the better.
