Fantastic weather for our event tonight!

We'll start our star party with a presentation on Dark Energy. Please
arrive a few minutes early so we can get settled before our 7:30pm start. Following the talk, we will have an observing session including Saturn,
many globular clusters, and Messier Objects within Sagittarius.

Presentation: Dark Energy &
the Cosmological Constant:
A Truly Repulsive Topic

 
The talk will cover a wide range of topics including curvature of space, cosmic background radiation, the accelerating Universe, and possible explanation of Dark Energy.
Following the presentation we will observe Saturn, many globular clusters, and Messier objects within the constellation Sagittarius

    The Jet Stream affects astronomical "seeing" (steadiness of the air)
    If we're in a gray area, seeing will not be as good as in a white area.
    If we're in a white area, the shorter the arrows, the better.
