The forecast for this evening is for clear skies. The observatory
will be open at 7:45pm. Please park on roads west and north
of observatory and in park rangers' parking lot.

Public Observing Event
at the ACA Observatory

 

Planet Observing
 
Planet observing tonight: Venus within 3° of
the Pleiades, Jupiter and Ghost of Jupiter are
well-placed for observing in the evening sky.
There are many objects on the observing list including numerous galaxies.
The weather forecast calls for clear skies so it should be a perfect
night for stargazing.  All this, plus the Best Free Coffee in Akron
will be brewing all observing session.

    The Jet Stream affects astronomical "seeing" (steadiness of the air)
    If we're in a gray area, seeing will not be as good as in a white area.
    If we're in a white area, the shorter the arrows, the better.
